Mississippi Roots, World-Class Wagyu

Black Jack Ranch was founded in 2005 by Rick Carter with a straightforward belief: raise exceptional beef, honor the land, and do things the right way, whether anyone is watching or not.
What started as a quiet family operation in Wiggins, Mississippi has grown into one of the country’s premier Wagyu and Angus programs, but the heart behind it has never changed. Rick built this ranch on grit, stewardship, and an uncompromising standard for quality.
Today, Black Jack Ranch is home to more than 400 head of cattle, including two of the highest-ranked Wagyu females in the world, S Yuriko 412M and Boni 413M, along with standout herd sire LMR Samauri 1749J.
Our herd also includes 17 elite Wagyu females featuring some of the most coveted bloodlines in the country, including Boni 207K, the dam of Boni 413M, and Boni 417, a full sister to Boni 413M, further strengthening the maternal depth and genetic excellence behind our program.
Our cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished, and pasture-raised with care to produce the rich marbling, tenderness, and depth of flavor we’re known for.
The World Class Wagyu Genetics Program at Black Jack Ranch
We’ve developed a world-class seedstock program, using elite genetics, data-backed breeding strategies, and registrations with both the Australian and American Wagyu Associations to support breeders around the world.
Our seedstock program is built on elite genetics, data-backed breeding strategies, and registrations with both the Australian and American Wagyu Associations, as well as the American Angus Association, giving breeders worldwide access to proven, reliable bloodlines.
We’ve also expanded beyond cattle. Now, you’ll find a farm store filled with fresh-baked goods, tallow soaps, housemade dips and sides, and a food truck serving up our signature smashburgers.
Still, at our core, nothing has changed.
Rooted in Tradition. Raised with Care.
Everything we do is rooted in stewardship, integrity, and care – for the land, the animals, and the families we serve. Our pastures and facilities are meticulously maintained to ensure a calm, healthy environment for our cattle, because we believe that how we care for them directly impacts the quality of every cut we sell.
When you choose Black Jack Ranch, you’re not just buying beef. You’re buying into a promise of excellence, transparency, and tradition done right.
